Wavelet-Radial Descriptor Based Algorithm for Image Feature Extraction

A wavelet-radial algorithm for invariant feature extraction is given by the wavelet techniques and the edge information is obtained using the radial symmetric functions.This method does not use direction filters and the images in polar form for rotation invariance,while it is suitable for both the texture and non-texture image and easily implemental.The parameter in the algorithm is mathematically proved,and justified through computations,that can generate the invariant discriminative feature vectors.Simulation results demonstrate that it can be used for the application of content based image retrieval.
