  • Fractal dimension is one of key concepts in fractal geometry, and is used as a statistical quantity that gives an indication of the complexity of a fractal or how completely a fractal appears to fill space. Many methods have so far been developed for the calculation of fractal dimension. We propose a new method based on a series of buffering operation.There-fore it is named a buffering based method. In fact, the method is performed well through an experiment, and it is easily implemented by GIS software,e.g.,Arcview.
