  • Many three-dimensional industrial surveying systems imported from Switzerland and other countries are used in China. These systems are with high-prices and consists just of two electronic theodolites,a standard ruler and a online portable computer. In this paper some corresponding techniques are presented in order to set up a three-dimensional industrial surveying systems of"building blocks type".Six orientation methods of initial direction between two angle-measurement equipment have been summarized and analyzed in the authors'papers including this one.A technique to determine the distance between electronic using invar ruler is also described.Specially, the authors suggest using the"collimator method"of initial direction in industrial surveying extra-high accuracy. As we know that the" collimator method"leads to error of initial direction with" the equal and same direction character".In this paper the detailed theory and equations of deformation of figure caused by the" collimator method"have been presented and listed.According the results of deduction in the paper, under the condition to meet the same accuracy of object point, the orientation limit error of initial direction much bigger than that of usual method. Therefore,we can set up a three-dimensional industrial surveying system of" building blocks type",using one of six orientation initial directions.
