Fire Detection Based on EOS MODIS Data

This paper describes the potential fire detection capability of the MODIS (earth observation satellites, moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer) which is on the polar orbiting earth observation system (EOS) for day and night global observations.The theory and methods of MODIS data in fire detection are introduced.The result showes that MODIS data is very suitable for fire detection.
