  • In this paper,a procedure of determing the appearance and geometrical elements for geological structure of bare rock surface by using tenestrial photogrammetry method is described in detail, which includes ground photography、control survey, choice and measurement of special feature points along structure plane on stereoscopic photographs, determination of cleavage surface and calculation of appearance elements as well as accuracy evaluation.A robust method with variable weight is used in order to detect the blunders and to assure the quality of resalts. The corresponding software of calculation rock appearance elements has been developed.Through the practical test using the real data in some mines, the RMSE of mγ0=±1.0~0,mβ0=±1.47°for tilt direction and tilt angle are obtained, which can satisfy the need of users very well.
