    Abstract
  • For cartographic automatic generalization,the basic spatial relations between spatial objects are defined;and the typical spatial relations between map features such as road,water system and settlement are concluded.The abstraction rules of basic spatial relations between these spatial objects are discussed.It affords the essential theoretical fundamental to maintain spatial relation consistency in effect in cartographic generalization.
