Abstract: On the basis of the mathematical expressions of the cartographic contents and mode, the mathematical definitions of maps are studied. By conducting the implicit map and transformation condition in the map definition all sorts of the cartographic information belong to map category, and thus the map definition gets a more general and precise expression.
