Abstract:
For the purpose of synthetical analysis of spatial data,an integrated model from the view of spatial cognition is advanced, which contains the surface TIN implicitly, and takes the tetrahedron as the basic volume element. On the basis of elaborate design of the topological relationships between the node, edge, facet and volume,an object-manager is designed to organize and manage the microcosmic spatial data together with their topological, associative relationships. With the object-manager,the surface TIN model and TEN model can be unified at the data level, which enables a seamless combination of these two models. The mechanisms of operations on the so-constructed models, such as clipping, uncovering, etc, are also covered.A case study is also given to verify the validity and feasibility of the integrated TEN model based on the object-manager.
