  • Based on the classical Peterson model of horizontal visibility and aerosol optical depth, using visibility data of 25 global climate meteorological stations and measured synchronous MODIS aerosols optical depth data,we invert the key parameter aerosol scale height H,which influences the accuracy of Peterson model severely. We describ the variation tendency of aerosol scale height by quadratic curve model, and introduce this model to Peterson model.Using the relative error and RMSE to assess the precision of Peterson model and modified Peterson model, the precision of modified Peterson model is improved.
