  • Using extended Kalman filter technique, this paper presents a method for estimating the parameters of a smoothed hysteretic model with slip proposed by Baber and Noori on the basis of inputoutput data.Considering the fact that the choice of initial estimates of parameters is very important for the convergence of estimation procedure, the authors suggest a way to decide the initial estimates of parameters.
