Study on Light Direction and Color in Hill-Shading

Analyzing the existing methods of hill-shading, this paper presents an interactive humancomputer coordinated method for the color hill-shading.The emphasis is put on the modification and examination of grayness and color.The direction of light can be decided by user or through statistic method.Color can effectively improve the three-dimensional appearance of terrain, and the design of color is mainly based on the layer tinting and the type of relief.A common color parameter table is designed.
