Modeling Theory to Error Model of Linear Segment in Vector GIS

The modeling mechanism of the error model of linear segment is proposed in this paper. The concepts of figure gene and scale gene which determine the figure and the scale of error model are presented. A brand-new approach to the theory research of vector GIS positional uncertainty is inaugurated, and the theory and method which can be used for reference are also provided.
