Determination of the 2nd Radial Gradient of Disturbing Potential Using Terrestrial Gravity Data

  • This paper presents a computation procedure of the 2nd radial gradient of disturbing potential from terrestrial gravity anomaly data.In order to use FFT/FHT techniques for fast computation,the integrating expresion of the radial gradient has been transformed into the corresponding convolution one.The practical algorithm for computing the radial gradient from terrestrial gravity anomalies will give an efficient approach to the combination of terrestrial gravity data with the data of satellite and airborne gravity gradiometry.Finally,the results of a numerical example with the data derived from a gravity potential model WDM94 have been given and analyzed to demonstrate the proposed mathematical model and algorithm.
