Analytical Photogrammetric Evaluation of SPOT Imagery

Abstract

The high resolution and appropriate base-height ratio of SPOT stereo imagery make it possible to be evaluated on analytical photogrammetric instruments accurately and efficiently. After a brief analysis of the geometry of SPOT imagery, a mathematical evaluation model is introduced. A bundle block adjustment program on Siemens Computer 7570-C, a special software package for SPOT stereo model measurement at Planicomp C-100 as well as a program for producing orthophotos at orthophotoprinter OR-1 have been developed by the authors. Some experiments using the panchromatic SPOT stereo pair over the area of Marseille have been carried out and have shown satisfactory results.
