Cartographic Representation of Sea Coasts on Topographic Maps at Large and Medium Scales

This article first gives prominence to ways for representing coasts on opographic maps at large and medium scales. Then it deals with the classification of coasts, the cartographic representation and typical characters for each type of coasts, and how to display these characters in the process of cartographic generalization. Finally, it extends the general principles for cartographic representation of coasts.
