  • DEM data is an important component of spatial database in GIS.The data amount is huge and compression is necessary.In view of the simplicity and high efficiency of the compressing system,we apply integer wavelet transforms to DEM data and introduce a simple coding scheme with high efficiency.Experimentations on DEM at different areas are carried out and some rules are educed in the end.
