  • The authors put forwards a new method which select the terrain profile perpendicular to falling line (opposite direction of gradient) to determine the candidate points on ridge and valley. The new method perfect terrain profile analysis method theoretically. Experimental result has proven the new method is quite effective and reliable in its identification of candidate points.

Abstract: The authors put forwards a new method which select the terrain profile perpendicular to falling line (opposite direction of gradient) to determine the candidate points on ridge and valley. The new method perfect terrain profile analysis method theoretically. Experimental result has proven the new method is quite effective and reliable in its identification of candidate points.
