Buildings Progressive Typification Based on Weighted Mesh Simplification

The importance of each building, i.e. weight is quantitated by means of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method; the map space is partitioned by structural road network; the data structure of each building, originally as an area feature, is built as an oriented point. The typification of building groups is translated into the typification of point groups. The mesh simplification technique can be used in this way. The flow is composed of two steps. Last,an example of building typification based on weighted mesh simplification is given.
