Mathematical Methods Involved in Constrained Reshaping for Solving Graphic Conflicts Between Streets and Buildings

  • On the basis of the new auxiliary hybrid raster-vector data structure and automatic building classification introduced in the previous paper, the mathematical methods involved in the constrained reshaping of the buildings are discussed for maintaining the correct innerrelationships of the buildings, and the right interrelationships between the street and the nearby building symbols, when the multi nearby street symbols are broadened for compilation of maps in smaller scales, and there is no more place for ordinary displacement. The experimental results are shown and their evaluations are given from the aspects of visual and digital analyses.
