  • Based on analyses of all kinds of atmospheric effect in the process of acquiring remote sensing image, the common principle of atmospheric correction are discussed.Advanced spaceborne thermal emission and reflection radiometer(ASTER) level-1A visible image is executed atmospheric correction using the atmospheric radiative transfer model,6S(second simulation of satellite signal in the solar spectrum). The plane-parallel atmospheric model is validated in the high-latitude Antarctica.Atmospheric correction is necessary for application of remote sensing in high-latitude regions.
