Abstract
Geo-semantic sharing in a cross-domain depends on clarifying geographical concepts. Literalvagueness may lead to ambiguity of apprehension of a concept from its text definition or description. From the view of cognitive psychology, a geographical concept is formed from deduction of extensional entities of the concept and by creation of its exemplars from its extension. Therefore, this paper pre-sents a methodology of creation of exemplars of geographical concepts in the domain of geographical information, where, ontological attributes of a concept are drawn from deducing text descriptions into a set of terms or semantic units and characterized by categorization of the extension of the concept. The extensional entities and entity attributes are exploited to generate or determine the exemplars among geographical entities in terms of notable features. This study indicates the availability of the proposed methodology by presenting two methodological paradigms of creating exemplars of geographical concepts.
