Study on the Wear and Life of Cutting Tool by the Use of Machine Vision

  • 摘要: 本研究采用光电摄像器件(TV摄像机或CCD)显微镜与IBM-PC计算构成的机器视觉系统,使用图像处理与模式识别技术分析和处理切削刀具后刀面上磨损带的显微影像信息;分别采用联机和脱机的方法检测、计算刀具的磨损量和损坏形态,并以此作为监测制造过程的依据,以刀具耐用度应最高、生产成本应最低为约束条件,优化了切削参数(切削速度V,进给量f)。经实验验证,理论分析计算与实测结果相吻合,为高精度识别和控制制造过程提供了一种实用方法。

     

    Abstract: This paper presents a method of applying a system which consists of an optoelec-tronic scanner (TV camera or CCD),a microscope and an IBM-PC computer to abtain the micrograph information from the worn region on the flank of the cutting part of the tool and analyze and process the picture by means of imagine processing and mode recognizing tech-nology,The on-line and off-line methods are used respectively to calculate accurately the worn value,recognize the form of wearing. Base on these,the manufacturing process could be recognized and controled. At the last,the optimum values of cutting velocity and feed are given, which meet the principle of the lowest cost and longest tool life. It is proved by experi-ments that the conclusion of the theoretical analysys and calculation agrees with the practical tests. The article provides a practical and precise way of recognizing and controling manufac-turing process on line.
