Abstract:
To deduce required resolution and accuracy of grid data from the interpolation error of gravity anomaly is a typical inverse problem.Based on the error estimation formula of least squares collocation, the contribution of the resolution and accuracy of grid data to the interpolation error is discussed.A method is proposed to determine the necessary resolution and accuracy when the interpolation error is given. To assess the method, interpolation experiments are performed using EGM2008 gravity data with various resolution and accuracy. The results are consistent with those derived by the method proposed in this paper, which validates the feasibility of the method.
