Abstract:
Different from traditional building modeling from aerophoto, a building modeling method, which is called CSG block analyzed method from ground photographs,is presented in this paper. We use CSG as the primary representation, which describes each building by a combination of one or more basic primitives for visualization purposes. Based on Debevec semi-automatic modeling algorithm, this method measures building directly with CSG block analysis,so enhances the reliability and practicality through giving attention to operator intelligence and computer efficiency. Our modeling approach has two components. One is a semi-automatic modeling method which facilitates the recovery of the basic geometry of the photographed scene. The algorithm exploits the constraints that are characteristic of architectural scenes. The other is view-dependent texture mapping, a method of composition multiple views of a scene that better simulates geometric detail on basic models. The results show that the approach has the ability to create the realistic building modeling.
