Abstract:
Based on the principle of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, this paper suggests that the qualitative assessment of a topographic map be investigateel by means of mathematical models of multiple comprehensive evaluation. It points out that among many factors affecting the quality of topographic maps, the decisive ones are mathematical accuracy, geographic accuracy and accuracy of trim and decoration, which are determined respectivaly by a series of inferior foctors. Therefore the qualitative evaluation of a topographic map is a problem of multiple comprehensive one. As for the first or superior evaluation, the author presents three concrete mathematical models, the operators used in the operation are respectively as follows: No matter what level of evaluation of topographic maps made, the effects of all factors concerned on the quality of a topographic map shold be taken into consideration. Comparing the praticality and efficiency of the three models through the country's need to use maps, the practical exampls according to paper points out that Model (3) is the basic one for gualitical evaluation of topographic maps.
