Abstract: The tabu search arithmetic is introduced in order to solute the problem about label placement for point-features from the viewpoint of global optimization.According to the basic rules of cartography,the objective function,which has considered the limit condition such as class of map object,is improved based on Yammoto's research.It is illustrated that how the arithmetic is used in label placement for point-feature through a simple example.
