Abstract: This paper put forward a cartographic system based on symbol figure and introduces this system's framework,mode of data structure and several key problems in the process of geographical database changing to cartographic database,especially makes clear the conception of symbol figure.Actual production has proved that this system can produce maps quickly with high-quality.
