Abstract:
Rotating panoramic camera is a common digital camera mounted on a rotating platform of high accuracy. A panoramic image is got with the camera horizontally rotating to shoot image in multi-location. The paper presents the imaging geometry model of rotating panoramic camera. We calibrate the rotating panoramic camera parameters. With few control points(more than 3), the coordinates of the rotating center, the rotating initial azimuth, and exterior orientation elements of each image are calculated. The object coordinates are got by space intersection of multi-station rotating images. The experiments show that the method is less restricted by vision and numbers of control point in actual photogrammetry. The precision of object coordinates is good with few control points. The method is a new effective means of close range photogrammetry in difficult scenes.
