Abstract:
Based on the three-dimensional coordinate transformation model and the properties of the Roderick matrix, a linear fitting equation for single target point cloud orientation was derived. A constraint equation makes it conditional that the homonymy laser beam intersects with public targets. Orientation parameters for the entire point cloud in the whole region are then resolved simultaneously at the same time. Compared to the traditional non-linear model for point cloud orientation, the algorithm proposed in this paper is capable of achieving total orientation for a multi-station point cloud in the whole region, making it unnecessary to calculate initial parameters in the computational process. The accuracy of the each station orientation computed by this method vis a vis the traditional was high.
