Abstract:
Spatial data usability research focuses on user requirements and assists them in data use decision-making with the progress of spatial data acquisition approaches and development of data quality studies. This paper explores the concept of spatial data usability, and analyzes the existing methods and study methods, according to different factors. Overcoming the limiations of existing methods, combing the professional of expert decision making and computer efficiency, an evaluation method for multi-source spatial vectordata usability is presented. Data integration is used to solve the differences between multi-source spatial vector data, which provides the platform for consistent processing and usability evaluation. A usability evaluation of content is confirmed according to the subject area. The paper discusses the evaluation of geometric and descriptive data, evaluating data usability from the qualitative and quantitative perspective and also from whole to part. Visual analytics are introduced to present evaluation results for multi-source spatial vector data usability, which can help users explore different aspects and details of spatial vector data, and plan thier data use.
