Abstract:
To ensure the implementation of on-site scientific investigation in Prince Charles Mountains of Antarctica, the 1:50 000 Fundamental Geographic Information is an urgent need. Domestic ZY-3 high resolution stereographic satellite imagery provides remote sensing data support for producing fundamental geographic information. Combining this imagery with ICESat GLAS laser altimetry data and other multi-source remote sensing information, we produced 1:50 000 fundamental geographic information for the Prince Charles Mountains in Antarctica using ZY-3 Stereographic Data, and analyzed the accuracy. Our results show that the vertical precision of Digital Elevation Model was better than 5.31m, and the RMSE for the differences between Digital Orthophoto Map and Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica was 16.30m. Therefore, our acquisition method can be considered as an effective and practical method for producing 1:50 000 fundamental geographic information based on ZY-3 Stereographic Data integrating imagery with multi-source remote sensing information from Antarctica.
