Computing River Storage Based on Cellular Automata

  • We propose a river flow spreading model based on CA in this paper.In the model,we process the boundary based on the feature of river DEM,and define the transition rules according to Manning Equation in the field of hydrology.According to the character that CA can simulate the dynamic process of space complex system,we simulate the dynamic process of river flow from up-section to down-section,then we compute the river storage when the water levels of up-section and down-section meet the requirements.The experimental results show that the method of computing river storage based on CA is feasible.
