A Grid-Time-indexed Cube Model for Spatiotemporal Data Warehouse of Vehicle Supervision

  • Immense amounts of spatiotemporal data generated by vehicle supervision can't be efficiently managed by ordinary databases,due mainly to long query response.This paper proposes a new approach called grid-time-indexed cube,which is a spatial grid indexed,adaptive cube-based and trajectory supported for spatiotemporal data warehouses.Through the extensive performance studies based on spatiotemporal data from main vehicle supervision system of Guangdong province,we observed that grid-time-indexed cube achieved higher query performance than ordinary data storage technologies,under various operational conditions,and it was easily applicable in practice and compatible with ordinary databases.
