The Estimation of the Gravity Value in Qomolangma Peak

  • The effects of mantle anelasticity on the Earth's second-degree zonal response coefficient, the zonal geopotential coefficient and the orbital node of geodetic satellites are assessed by using the period of the Chandler wobble as a constraint. The theoretically-predicted parameters for the long-period tides are used to compare the results obtained by satellite laser ranging (SLR) measurements to near-Earth geodetic satellites. The results show that the long-period tide solutions determined by SLR can detect the effect of mantle anelasticity. After taking into account the effects of mantle anelasticity and non-equilibrium ocean tide, the theoretical predicted parameters for the 18.6 a tide are in general agreement with the SLR tide solution.
