The Data Model and Algorithm of Layer-based Generalization of Street-block Settlement on a Topographic Map

Presented in this paper is a data model and algorithm about the automatic gen-eralization of street-block settlement on a topographic map in large scale-layer-based Generalization Model. According to this model, a street-block settlement should be devided into four layers (adminisrtrtion zone,street,street block and buliding),and then generaliza-tion,will be carried out for every layer in proper order.
