3D Modeling and Data Organization of Power Transmission

  • On the basis of 2D GIS and DEMs data,the 3D modeling methods of power transmission and attached establishment is discussed through 3D extending. In the light of the features of virtual terrain environment database on 3D power transmission GIS,an approach is described to establish a terrain environment database. This approach is based on grid index and pyramid database structure, aims at National Spatial Data Infrastructure. The virtual terrain environment database integrates the terrain geometry data and the terrain texture data. To organize 3D model data,the traditional 2D GIS database is extended. By applying the above methods,the 3D power transmission GIS of Fujian province is reconstructed,and the practice has proved that these methods are suitable for the reconstruction of 3D power transmission.
