Influence of GPS Base Station on Accuracy of Positioning by Airborne Position and Orientation System

  • The influence of GPS base station on positioning accuracy by using airborne position and orientation system (POS) is discussed, and the accuracy of POS-supported aerial triangulation is compared with that of direct georeferencing. The experiment results have verified that the setup of GPS base station can significantly improve height accuracy of positioning by POS. POS Positioning without GPS base station can meet the specification of topographic mapping at small scale under 1∶50 000.
