Construction of a Virtual Geographic Environment for Air Pollution Simulation in Pearl River Delta

  • As a typical case,air pollution in Pearl River Delta(PRD) which can match VGE conception well.Overall architecture,computational grid based model integration and computation,and visualization on air pollution discription are discussed.We build a distributed architecture to integrate models and visualizations.MM5,which is complex and computation intensive,is run on computational grid to decrease computation time.Pollution results coupled with geographic information is visualized in 2D and 3D environments.Based on the prototype system,we select one history event for simulation,and find the architecture,model integration and visualization work effectively.
