Building Ontology for Imagery and Gridded Metadata and Applications of Extended Semantic Query

    Abstract
  • By analyzing the ISO19115-2 draft,we find existing ISO19115-2 norms still has some shortcomings,give an extended UML abstract object model for imagery and gridded metadata,implemented ontology for abstract object model of imagery and gridded.By mapping rules between UML and OWL.We also used this ontology for extended semantic query in catalogue service,which narrows the semantic gap between the user's query and metadata model.This method increases the query precision of imagery and gridded data,and provides a more user-friendly interactive method.
