Geometric Correction of Thermal Infrared Remote Sensing Image Assisted by High-Resolution Data

  • With the development of thermal infrared remote sensing technology, the thermal infrared remote sensing image has an extremely vital significance in land surface temperature inversion, forest fire monitoring, mineral detection and other field, and in these applications, the geometric correction is an important basic technology. We use the advantage of the high-resolution satellite, study the differences and correlation of different remote sensing sensors, and introduce a method of combining simulation images with feature matching. The method based on high resolution optical image, according to the radiation transfer equations of thermal infrared, it use the ground radiation data to simulate the thermal infrared image. Then we can use the simulation image to assist the geometric correction of the thermal infrared image. After simulate the image, we use the scale invariant feature transform(SIFT) feature detection algorithm to find the homonymous points, and then finish the geometric correction of thermal infrared image. Experiment results show that this method makes the geometric correction of thermal infrared remote sensing image with high precision.
