Abstract: On the basis of the theory on active and real-time database,this paper suggests an active real-time database system ARTDBS supporting advanced application,which perfectly integrates traditional DBMS capabilities,active capabilities,and real-time constraint mechanism.The active mechanism in ARTDBS is the trigger mechanism.Effective work of the triggers depending on design of the system execution model isanalyzed in detail,and an execution model of the trigger is developed based on WINDOWS NT environment.
